Pilot Project Brewing
What is Pilot Project Brewing? Calling the beer connoisseurs and underdog rooters – Pilot Project Brewery in Milwaukee, WI is where homebrewers, new brewers, and seasoned breweries alike can (literally) get their feet wet in the brewing industry! Pilot Project helps finesse recipes, aids in marketing, and installs the confidence & knowledge that new small batch brewers need to get their dreams hopping!
Milwaukee Brewery Wedding
Can I have a Pilot Project Brewing wedding? Yes! Located in the heart of Milwaukee’s brewery district, Pilot Project Brewing is a perfect Milwaukee wedding venue for as micro as 10 or as many as 1300 because of its unique location, luxe yet laid-back-beer-in-hand kind or atmosphere, and a rooftop that overlooks the entire city.
The Barrel Room quite literally puts your guests in the heart of the brewery. With long family style wooden tables and oversized circular chandeliers, this is the perfect spot for a more informal vibe.

Unique Wedding Venues Milwaukee
Kirby & Erik chose to utilize these spaces at their Pilot Project Brewing Milwaukee wedding venue:
-
The Beer Hall
Where a luscious, tropical monstera plant wall cascades nearly the entire length of the elongated room. With sky high sky lights, it was the perfect spot for their live wedding band to set the stage and put on a show for guests, all under the starry night.
-
The Bar
A true visual work of art. The hall long bar features an elevated elaborate wood sculpture that gives a nod to those nostalgic WI supper clubs but in Milwaukee fashion with an incredibly modern & iconic twist.
-
The Rooftop
Where sunset cocktail hour wrapped guests in a late summer breeze. Staff brought hand plated hors d’oeuvres around while the rooftop bar served up Kirby & Erik’s custom cocktails, hard seltzers, lagers, and every bit of boozy goodness you could dream up. You can even hold your intimate wedding on this rooftop, as the last sun rays glimmer off the windows of the Milwaukee skyline!
-
The Venue
Remember those sky high sky lights we mentioned in the Beer Hall, well those babies extend alllll the way through The Venue, until they meet the floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Milwaukee skyline. Hands down, one of the best views of the city. The space is bright, crisp, and when paired with flickering candles & clinking glasses, becomes the most intimate, cozy atmosphere. This is where Kirby & Erik held their dinner portion of the evening. It can also be where a wedding ceremony is held.
Milwaukee Wedding Venue
What Kirby & Erik had been dreaming of for their Pilot Project Brewing wedding (aka one of the most unique Milwaukee wedding venues):
- Erik was excited to FINALLY become official cat dad to Kirby’s cats
- Really good tequila in hand (Kirby)
- Those “In-between” moments ; the candid , low key times filled with being in the present and not worrying about the next thing
- Having friends & fam in “their city” (aka MKE!)
Their dry humor, the continued perusal of bettering themselves, and the “Marry Me” spelled out in Erik’s homemade chocolate chip pancakes for Kirby are just a few of the things that define their quirky yet sophisticated partnership.
Their ceremony took place under vaulted ceilings beside the stained-glass windows of Lake Park Lutheran church. The 113+ year history laden church welcomes and is proud to celebrate a diverse community! Kirby & Erik’s heartfelt ceremony brought tears to our eyes- especially in the powerful moment when their parents’ group hugged them and quietly spoke affirmations.
Milwaukee wedding photographers
Kirby & Erik wrapped us up in a little bundle of genuine friendship from moment one and arriving to photograph their wedding day was more like arriving to celebrate a dear friend’s marriage. From our many planning meetings (with tequila in hand) and kitties on the keyboard, to just genuinely cheering each other on during the in-between times, Kirby & Erik really are those kind of rare souls.
Hey newlyweds K & E- we’re raising our coffee cups to you and your beautiful families, to Erik finally earning the title of cat dad, and to you as you kick off the wild adventure that is marriage. Cheering you on, ALWAYS!
