One late afternoon summer day, Jake and Rachel celebrated their Picnic Point Engagement Session in Madison, WI. On the edge of Lake Mendota, we met. The waves lapped merrily as they strolled hand in hand.

Their must haves for their session: FUN, laid-back, and celebratory. Considering there was hardly a moment without laughter and the evening ended with them running into Lake Mendota, their Madison WI engagement session was nothing less than pure joy.

Raymer’s Cove

Beginning at the hidden gem that is Raymer’s Cove, the pair brought along their sweet rescue pup, Piper. They love to be by the water, and this spot has not shortage of that. It is here where as the sun set, they ran straight into the water. Of course a water fight ensued, leaving poor Rachel with a handful of seaweed to the face- oops!!

They met on Bumble! Rachel swiped right (and Jake did, too), but unfortunately Jake missed the initial “match,” which expired 24 hours after Rachel sent the first message. Jake ended up showing his mom Rachel’s first message and she encouraged him to try to re-match – Which ended up costing Jake $7.99/month for Bumble Boost (don’t worry, Rachel paid him back the $7.99 about a year later). The rest is history!

So near the city center, this oasis of nature has hiking trails that are surrounded by water and tall, swaying trees. In the summer it is filled to the brim with luscious greens and warm, gentle winds. In the fall, the ground is covered in ankle deep colorful leaves. It truly is the most perfect location for the adventure loving couple.
