Jessica looped it tenderly around her bouquet as she nervously headed to her first look with Jon. In the hustle and bustle of downtown Madison, there is a tiny haven where everything seems to slow down – Period Garden Park (aka one of the very best places to elope in Wisconsin!) The couple fell in love with it because it reminded Jessica of The Secret Garden that she and her sister loved so much as children. In this little green, flowering corner of the city, Jon and Jessica said their vows.

30 of their closest family and friends cheered, and the fountain babbled as they were pronounced husband and wife (with, of course, a reference to Jon’s love of fishing 🎣- they just wouldn’t be his vows without it!) This was 12 years of Jessica and Jon and they were ready to move onto the next leg of their journey together – kicking it off with an intimate Period Garden Park wedding.

Period Garden park is themed around the Victorian era and is overflowing with garden beds. It’s one of the most unique hidden gems in Madison, WI. It’s within walking distance of the water and the Madison State Capitol can be seen in the distance. For history bluffs- the parks’ cozy location at the well known Gorham and Pinckney Streets was a front lawn in the late 1800’s.

As heavy clouds rolled in, the joyful intimate Period Garden Park wedding group made their way to the warm glow of the Edgewater Hotel. Clinking glasses and belly laughs sounded all around. 

The Edgewater takes micro weddings to the next level. It brings all those warm, glowy feels + laid back luxury. The couple held a relaxed cocktail hour at Augie’s Tavern inside The Edgewater, while their intimate The State House micro wedding reception offered sweeping views of Lake Mendota. Dirty Martinis, a table laden with fresh shrimp, and steaming sliders – the perfect mix high-end comfort foods!

Jessica & Jon took a walk along the nearby docks, stealing away for some time alone and to soak in the wind and waves. 

When we packed out for the night our hearts were overflowing. And posting this snippet of their day is giving us that warmth all over again!
